Description :(Scroll down to see enlarged views) This is a very old thick pewter tavern pitcher with a smiling face, kinda drunk like. The pewter is so thick and heavy, weighs 3 pounds, 12 ounces and is 6" tall x 6" wide. The hat and ruffle collar remind me of a minstrel or jester. Like a tankard but pours like a pitcher. Bigger than a creamer, smaller than a water pitcher. Crude, worn and pitted inside, but nice patina on the outside. No maker's marks that I can see. A great Renaissance piece! Add it to your Cabinet of Curiosities! Looks to be from the early 1800's or earlier.
